im glad im a human!
today i was helping ahmoi prepare for the steamboat/hotplate dinner tml (funfunfun haha) and she got me to cut some prawn feelers off and as i did the monotonous and very brainless task, my mind inevitably drifted. and frm my time cutting prawns and thinking about important facts of life, i gleaned two important points
1. it sucks to be a housewife
2. it sucks to be a prawn
now for my first point, i know its politically correct to say tt being a housewife is noble and the hardest job around blah blah but actually i dont really agree with tt. i mean yeah ok you need to learn little details in how a home runs but seriously i dont think its something thats really challenging and i dunno la but to me i think a housewife is only appreciated by her children and then not even all the time. like seriously i dont think anyone grows up dreaming of being a housewife someday, instead they dream of being a teacher or a nurse or a whatever. and is it really noble to give up your dreams for housework? i mean, yeah ok family comes first and stuff but im a firm believer that if you have a husband willing to help you out and you balance out your life it is possible to fulfill your dreams as well as have a family. and i know alot of housewives they feel its worth is to see thier children grow up and stuff but is it really something they wanted or it what they settled for?? so sorry to all housewives out there but this is my view la. and i guess maybe its just me but im not really into children and stuff so maybe tts y haha. and to u children of housewives, just think of what your mother gave up her dreams for - laundry, cleaning, cooking and yes, cutting up prawns.
and for the second point, as i was picking up prawn after prawn, i realised tt really the worst thing to be is a prawn, like if u could be an animal pple would say dolphin or lion or fish or somethingelse, anythingelse! but never a prawn cos they really lead the most pathetic existence. like they cant even swim tt well cos they arent streamlined like a fish, thier only purpose on earth is as food for other pple, and they dont even get a dignified death with eyes popping out and brains spilling out and pple cutting off thier feelers and stuff. like ok, so planktons main pt of living is also to die in other animals stomachs but at least they are so small u cant see how horrible they look right?? even lizards (the most disgusting creature on this galaxy and the nxt). have a purpose, much as it pains me to admit it, i guess they do help rid the earth of mosquitos and stuff. but prawns?!?!?!? they are only good for eating and even for tt they arent tt nice. so seriously, the nxt time u eat a prawn, pity it! its little life was spent just doing nothing but foating around waiting for you to eat it and making baby prawns so tt u can eat them too.
yeah ok so i guess u do learn interesting stuff while doing domestic chores and i dunno la but maybe i shld try to help out more haha. like staying at home all day doing chores sucks big time but its always good to learn new stuff i guess :p
